Our very own Ezra Smith is has announced that he is running for President of the Young Democrats of Arkansas. The election of new officers for the YDAR will be this weekend in Little Rock. Below i
"I am delighted to endorse Ezra Smith for YDA President. Now, more than ever, YDA needs a leadership team who can take the organization to the next level. Great leadership takes strength of character and a firm commitment to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason. Ezra Smith is the embodiment of a great leader and I urge you to support him."
Epic! It's a great word to describe the 5th annual Democrats Rock. We promised you a party five years in the making and we delivered.
A sold out crowd. Over $20,000 raised! Tons of new faces. Fantastic sponsors. Amazing food. It was the event of the year. We were lucky enough to hear from Senator Mark Pryor, Former Lt. Governor Bill Halter and House Minority Leader, Representative Greg Leding [via phone]. Our three bands, the Farmer and the Markets, Leah and the Mojo Doctors and Randal Shreeve and the Sideshow rocked the barn ALL night. Our food vendors pulled out all the stops, Cafe Rue Orleans, Tyler's House Catering, JJ's Grill and Chill, Early Bird Catering, Lo's Sweet Treats and 10 Creams Ice Cream. We'll have photos posted from our fantastic photographer, Stephen Ironside with Ironside Photography, very soon.
Don't miss this opportunity to stay up to date with the latest happenings in Arkansas politics.
Happy Daylight Savings Time, Democrats!
The Arkansas Legislature has been in session for 55 days and GOP Representatives and Senators are continuing to push their Conservative agenda without fulfilling their promise to "create jobs". The House and Senate both voted to override the Governor's veto on the 12-week abortion bill. Another bill of interest is SB 2, Senator King's Voter ID Bill. The latest action on this bill can be found in our Legislative Alert, below. I know each of you are as frustrated as I am. Continue to call and advocate for the bills you believe in.
We've had an overwhelming response to our 2013 Democrats Rock. We will sell out of tickets before the April 5th event. Make sure you secure your tickets either via the web or call 479-841-7279
