For the current 89th General Assembly, he serves as Senate Minority Leader and chairman of the 2014 Southern Legislative Conference, which will be hosted in Little Rock next year. ![]() Representative Michael John Gray- House Minority Leader
Representative Michael John Gray, a lifelong resident of Woodruff County, is committed to asking tough questions, speaking up something doesn’t look right, and won’t back down from the hard decisions. As state representative for District 47, Michael John stands for Jackson, Woodruff, White and Independence Counties, a district that he believes often gets lost in the fight for services and resources in Little Rock. Sworn in as member of the Arkansas 90th General Assembly in January 2015, the Speaker of the House appointed Michael John as vice chairman of the Joint Committee on Advanced Communications and Information Technology. Only a handful of first-year legislators in his class of 41 were given leadership positions. His fellow class of new representatives elected him to be their vice chairman. In September 2015, his fellow Democratic representatives elected Michael John to be the House Democratic Caucus Leader. Phone: 870-347-6000 Email: michael.gray@arkansashouse.org |
