Washington County Democratic Women

The Washington County Democratic Women (WCDW) are committed to identifying and supporting candidates and elected officials that uphold the principles of the Democratic Party of Arkansas.
Please join them and attend their monthly meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Hilton Garden Inn in Fayetteville located at 1325 N. Palak Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72704 at 5:30pm.
A cash/credit card bar is available and light snacks will be served.
WCDW organization is comprised of mothers, wives, sisters, educators, students, doctors, environmentalists, activists, elected officials, and retired women. WCDW works to unite this diversity of devoted women behind two common goals–the support of the Democratic Party and the involvement of women in the political process.
The purpose of WCDW is to provide educational programs for the membership and the greater community, to encourage Democratic women candidates, to strengthen civic participation, to recruit volunteers for campaigns, and to provide a greater voice for women.

Active Member & Associate Member Fee is $20.00 annually.
Membership not required to attend.
Payments can be made by check and mailed to PO Box 3606, Fayetteville, AR or dropped off at the sign-in table at the monthly meetings. We are working on providing a link to online payments.

2019 Monthly Meetings
- All 11 meetings in 2019 will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fayetteville located at 1325 N. Palak Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72704.
- Our meetings are on the 4th Tuesday (except for November which will be on the 3rd Tuesday to account for Thanksgiving travel)
- We kick off each evening with social time at 5:30, and the program/meeting will begin at 6pm.
- January 22 - Dr. Janine Parry - “The Year of the Women: What We Know about Female Voters, Candidates, and Officeholders”
- February 26 - U.S. Attorney Duane “Dak” Kees - Love Not Hate, a focused on hate crimes and their impact on our community
- March 26 - Alternatives to the Washington County Jail Expansion
- April 23 - Vote. Run. Lead. - one of many options to train women to run for office
- May 28 - Hunger Awareness in our Community
- June 25 - PRIDE: Being a Better Ally
- July 23 - Volunteering for a Campaign - minutes
- August 27 - Dr. Angie Maxwell, The Long Southern Strategy - minutes
- September 24 - the impact state government has on the safety of women - abuse and addiction cycles, domestic violence and guns are strongly connected to this bipartisan issue
- October 22 - Coming Together. Debrah Mitchell, President of the Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus will join us to talk about what's going on across the state and continue the message of how women impact elections.
- November 26 - Candidate Pep Rally - filing will have ended and we will cheer on our Democratic candidates and close out our year. Please note this meeting will be one week earlier due the Thanksgiving holiday.
